BERLINER WINE TROPHY
Our Roter Veltliner 2015, an indigenious grape variety that is undergoing a revival of popularity in local wine glasses, wins the Gold Medal at the "Berliner Wine Trophy" and is among the best of this variety.
SALON WINNER + REGIONAL WINNER + SALON WINES
The Grüner Veltliner Ried Bromberg 2005 is unbeaten in its class. It was rated as the best Grüner Veltliner under 13.0% ABV out of 2,800 submitted wines from Lower Austria.
The Grüner Veltliner Ried Bromberg 2002 emerged as SALON and NATIONAL WINNER from the nationwide Austrian wine tasting.
Since 1996, 10 of our best wines have prevailed in Austria’s toughest competition:
1996: Traminer 1995
1997: Grüner Veltliner Ried Rainmacher 1996
1999: Grüner Veltliner 1998
2000: Grüner Veltliner Ried Rainmacher 1999
2002: Grüner Veltliner Ried Bromberg 2001, SALON WINNER
2002: Grüner Veltliner Ried Hochrain 2001

2005: Grüner Veltliner Ried Bromberg 2004, NATIONAL WINNER
2008: Riesling Wagramterrassen 2007

The best Veltliner wines are rated and distinguished every year in the “Falstaff Grüner Veltliner Guide”. The GV Ried Hochrain 2008 won an outstanding 4 stars.
Moreover, Falstaff Magazine praised the Franz Anton Mayer Winery as “one of our best wineries” and awarded it a star.
Other trade journals agree with this assessment: “Gault Millau”, “A la Carte”, “wein.pur”, “Wo isst Österreich” and “Die besten Weine Österreichs” mention the winery with praise, while the “Vinaria” even explicitly recommends it.
Franz Anton Mayer has dedicated himself to the traditional production of Grüner Veltliner wines. True to the motto of the vintners’ association “Weingüter Wagram” (Wagram Wineries), our Veltliner is “as it really should be”.
